Chapter 9: Toontown Saved Joe looked around for something he could fight Frollo with as the judge drew a sword. He spotted a box on the ground with "SWORD" written on it, opened it up, and got out whatever was in it without even looking at it. It was only when he held it out in front of him that he found out it wasn't a sword... it was a sleepy-looking toon swordfish. With a yawn, the swordfish said, "I was in the middle of such a great dream, too..." "Engard, Mr. Swanson!" Frollo snapped, thrusting his sword in Joe's face. Joe quickly threw the swordfish over his shoulder and opened up another, much larger box. Inside this one was a giant magnet. He held it out in front of him, and the sword began magnetized, drawing it - and Frollo - closer and closer. As soon as Frollo was within arm's distance, Joe reared his fist and yelled, "Prepare to hurt! And I don't mean emotionally like I do!" POW! He socked Frollo right in the face. Chapter 8: Captured By Frollo Joe crept into the dark, seemingly empty alley. By now, night had fallen on Toontown, and the only light in the alley - aside from the moon - came from a flickering lamppost. Joe couldn't believe he was thinking it, but he wished Snagglepuss was there. He probably would've helped ease the tension a little. Suddenly, Joe heard a voice from behind him shout, "MR. SWANSON!" Turning around, Joe saw her. Elsa, holding a gun. Putting his hands in the air, he moaned, "I always knew I'd get it in Toontown." "BEHIND YOU!" Elsa yelled, just before she fired her gun. Joe shut his eyes and braced for the impact. But Elsa didn't fire at him. She fired at the shadowy figure who was right behind Joe, ALSO pointing a gun at him. It was a direct hit - the figure fell to the ground with a THUD. Despite this, Joe still took out his gun and pointed it at Elsa. "Put the gun down, Snow Queen!" he barked. Chapter 7: Heading Into Toontown L.B. sat in his office, pouring himself a drink to calm his nerves. He really hoped that Joe wasn't lying when he said he had the will. If he didn't... Just as he was about to take a sip of his drink, the door to his office swung open, making him jump. Poking his head in, Joe said, "Good evening, Mr. Mammoth." "Swanson! Didn't hear you come in," L.B. said, trying to regain his dignity. "Uh, anyway, do you have the will?" "Yeah, I've got the will," Joe lied. "Question is, do you have the way? 'Cause I can tell you now, it ain't gonna come cheap." "Let me see the will," L.B. demanded, extending an open hand for Joe to put it in. "I told you I've got it. You'll get the will when I get some answers," Joe snapped. L.B. didn't like his tone. "When you get some answers? What are you implying, Swanson?" he wanted to know. "What do you THINK I'm implying?" Chapter 6: Joe's Backstory "You! You're not Sylvia! You're one of the Kung Fu Creatures on the Rampage... 2!" Snagglepuss laughed. He saw the joke coming a mile away, but he still thought it was hysterical. Joe just rolled his eyes. They were in the house of three beloved cartoon characters: the cantankerous fat cat Garfield, the dimwitted dog Odie, and their hapless owner Jon Arbuckle. They were nice enough to let them hide out from the Clean-Up Department, even after Joe warned them that there was a risk of them getting in trouble for harboring a fugitive. Snagglepuss sat on the couch next to Garfield and Odie, watching an episode of their 1980s TV show Garfield and Friends. Upon seeing Jon walk in from the kitchen, Joe said, "Thanks again for letting us hide out here, Jon." "Oh, think nothing of it. It's always nice to have houseguests," Jon assured him. Chapter Five: A Narrow Escape One tram ride later, Joe was climbing through that same back window of the Rough Draft Club. He figured it probably wasn't the best idea to use the front door - Vincent might throw him out. He emerged from Roy and Squidward's dressing room and began looking around for Elsa's. He saw a door with Baloo's name on it, a door with "O'MALLEY AND THE SCAT CATS" written on it... then he remembered that the club had a second floor. He'd followed Quagmire up the stairs to get to Elsa's dressing room. He climbed the staircase at the end of the hallway and knocked on the door to Elsa's dressing room. It didn't open. Maybe Elsa wasn't in. He knocked on the door again. Still no reply. By now, Joe was getting frustrated. Grabbing the doorknob, he found that it was unlocked. So he swung the door open.
